About The Position
The Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, delivering, and managing direct patient care using the nursing process and adhering to nursing practice standards. The position is in the Emergency Room in Marlborough and is scheduled for 24 hours, with 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. The schedule includes every third weekend and every other holiday. The nurse manages patient care from admission through discharge, conducts assessments and reassessments, develops and coordinates individualized care and discharge plans, and directs, supervises, coordinates, and evaluates nursing care in the assigned clinical setting. The nurse also delegates work appropriately based on job descriptions and competency levels. Work is performed indoors in a patient-care environment and is classified as medium physical work.
Requirements
- Current Massachusetts nursing licensure and registration.
- BLS certification, unless current ACLS certification is held; unit-specific certifications and competencies may also be required.
- Thorough knowledge of the discipline of nursing.
- Department-specific competencies must be met and maintained. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may substitute for listed requirements where certification, licensure, or registration is not required.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
