About The Position
The Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, delivering, and managing direct patient care using the nursing process and adhering to nursing practice standards. The role is in the Emergency Room and involves providing care appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population, from admission through discharge. The position is based in a patient-care environment and is scheduled for 24 hours per week on the night shift, from 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. It includes every third weekend and every other holiday.
Requirements
- Current Massachusetts nursing licensure and registration.
- Current BLS certification, unless current ACLS certification is held; unit-specific certifications and competencies may also be required.
- Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Use the nursing process to deliver and manage patient care from admission to discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population.
- Perform patient assessments and reassessments according to standard procedures.
- Develop and coordinate individual plans of care, including discharge planning.
- Direct, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care within the assigned clinical setting.
- Delegate appropriately in accordance with job descriptions and competency levels.
