Registered Nurse- MedSurg 4A (24 Hours, Nights, 11p-7a)
About The Position
Boston Medical Center is seeking a registered nurse for MedSurg 4A, a 34-bed medical unit. The Medical-Surgical Units at Boston Medical Center – South provide comprehensive inpatient care to a diverse patient population, including patients in post-surgery, orthopedics, ortho-spine, bariatrics, and hospice beds. Nurses and interdisciplinary teams deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care focused on recovery, stabilization, and discharge planning, supporting safe transitions to higher levels of care, rehabilitation, or home. The RN delivers exceptional care using a patient-centered care model, supported by the nursing organization. The position is scheduled for 24 hours per week on nights, from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Requirements
- Nursing diploma, ASN, or BSN; ability to obtain a BSN within four years is required.
- Current Massachusetts RN license.
- BLS certification.
Nice To Haves
- Prior acute Med/Surg experience is preferred.
- A BSN is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
- Communicate with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
- Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
- Update and manage patient records.
- Enter and interpret computerized data and information.
- Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
- Assist the leadership team with quality improvement projects as needed.
