About The Position
Baptist Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department at Baptist South in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a full-time night-shift opportunity in a fast-paced, collaborative environment providing high-quality, patient-centered emergency care. The role is suited to an experienced nurse passionate about emergency medicine, teamwork, and positive patient outcomes. The position provides care for patients requiring treatment for medical, surgical, chronic, and other conditions, including minor injuries and illnesses. The nurse uses the nursing process and Baptist Health’s mission to address patient needs, organizes and supervises supportive personnel, and coordinates care with ancillary services. The nurse includes patients and their significant others or families in developing individualized care plans and educates them about disease processes and the plan of care. Eligible external hires may receive a sign-on bonus of up to $7,500.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience.
- Telemetry experience.
- Hospital experience.
- Associate of Science in Nursing.
- Licensed Registered Nurse.
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Diploma-prepared nurses must have 5 or more years of progressive care.
Nice To Haves
- Emergency Department experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), TNCC, or NIHSS.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients with emergent conditions.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans using the nursing process.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, disease processes, treatments, and care plans.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
- Coordinate care with ancillary services to support optimal patient outcomes.
- Organize and supervise care provided by supportive personnel.
- Serve as a patient advocate and support patient safety and satisfaction.
- Include patients and significant others or families in developing individualized plans of care.
- Participate in unit-based initiatives and continuous quality improvement.
