About The Position

Baptist Health is seeking a part-time night-shift Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department at Baptist Emergency Room Oakleaf in Jacksonville, Florida. The nurse provides care to patients with medical, surgical, and other conditions; educates patients and families about disease processes and plans of care; collaborates with physicians and hospital departments; coordinates ancillary services; advocates for patients; and participates in staff meetings and other unit activities. The position is part of Baptist Health, a locally governed, faith-based, not-for-profit health system serving Northeast Florida.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience.
• Hospital experience.
• Telemetry experience.
• Associate of Science in Nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

• Emergency Department experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Certified Emergency Registered Nurse (CEN) certification.
• Conscious Sedation certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification.
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients requiring treatment of medical, surgical, or other conditions.
• Uphold the hospital mission statement.
• Educate patients and families about disease processes and plans of care.
• Interact with physicians and other hospital departments.
• Coordinate care provided by ancillary services.
• Act as the patient advocate.
• Participate in staff meetings and other unit activities.
