About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the delivery of patient care. The nurse is accountable for delegating patient care to other members of the healthcare team. The position is full-time, 36 hours per week, on a 12-hour night shift from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. at Nazareth Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The schedule includes every third weekend and rotating holidays.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in nursing.
• Current Pennsylvania RN license.
• Current BLS certification, or obtain it by completion of orientation.
• ACLS certification, or obtain it by completion of orientation if applicable to the area of practice.

• Previous acute care and/or emergency room experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care by applying the nursing process systematically and in accordance with hospital policy.
• Communicate proactively with the healthcare team about the plan of care, changes in patient condition, patient progress, discharge planning, and other relevant information.
• Document assessments and reassessments, plans, interventions, and outcomes according to policy.
• Document pain assessments and plans of care.
• Document fall risks and plans of care.
• Document wound risks and plans of care.
• Interpret and use clinical data in the plan of care.
• Assess patients for potential risk factors.
• Perform accurate and thorough nursing physical assessments.
• Participate in discharge planning using a multidisciplinary approach.
• Assume responsibility and accountability for delegating patient care to other members of the healthcare team.
