About The Position

Three Crosses Regional Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Procedural Team, supporting Pre Admissions Testing (PAT/Pre-OP). The role is part of an independent healthcare organization focused on high-quality patient care and a patient-centered culture. The nurse will assess and prepare patients before admission and surgery, educate patients and families, support care-process improvement with interdisciplinary teams, and maintain complete documentation. The position also involves cross-training to PreOp and PACU to assist as needed.

Requirements

• Associate degree.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an operating room setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
• Current Registered Nurse license.
• Current BCLS and ACLS certifications.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Operating room experience in an ambulatory surgery center preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient interviews to gather medical history, including allergies, current medications, past surgeries, and family history.
• Complete physical and verbal assessments before admission to identify surgical concerns.
• Order necessary preoperative tests, including blood work, EKGs, and x-rays.
• Educate patients and families.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient care processes and outcomes.
• Review charts for completeness in accordance with documentation protocols before and after surgical procedures.
• Cross-train to PreOp and PACU and assist as needed.
