About The Position

Registered Nurses in the Pre-Op/PACU unit facilitate patient care across a 36-bed pre-op area and 12-bay PACU, supporting a facility with 17 OR suites and an average volume of more than 30 cases per day. Nurses work in teams of six or more per shift and are expected to float between the main OR and the surgery center to provide continuous coverage. The role includes pre-op calls and Pre-Admission Testing (PATs), coordinating patient transports, and managing clinical recovery. Pre-Op RNs recover Phase II patients; PACU RNs recover Phase I patients, with occasional support for recoveries from other hospital departments. As an RN, you will facilitate communication and collaboration among the healthcare team and the patient and family to address the patient's physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. You will promote patient health, well-being, and safety through the nursing process, follow patient-care standards and the State Nurse Practice Act, and demonstrate accountability for relationship-based care and the organization's mission. St. Anthony Hospital is located in Lakewood, Colorado, and is a Level I Trauma Center serving Denver and the surrounding region. The hospital has 17 OR suites and a 24/7 field-to-surgery trauma suite, and received Magnet designation in 2023.
