About The Position

The Registered Nurse Pre-Op provides safe, effective care for perioperative patients during the pre-operative and post-operative phases in the Same Day Surgery Unit. The nurse manages patient care efficiently, performs pre-operative and pre-procedure assessments immediately before planned interventions, and plans, coordinates, and provides nursing care based on each patient’s individual needs. The role also includes working toward goals established in the previous evaluation period.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse.
Two years of medical-surgical experience.
American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) course and certification.
American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support (ALS or ACLS) course and certification.
American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Life Support (PLS or PCLS) course and certification.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Post-anesthesia care experience preferred.

Responsibilities
