Registered Nurse - Pre Op
About The Position
The Pre-Operative Registered Nurse assesses, prepares, and educates surgical patients before their procedures to support safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. The Pre-Op RN collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative team members to verify patient readiness for surgery, complete required assessments and documentation, review diagnostic testing, reconcile medications, and provide pre-operative instructions. The role serves as a patient advocate and promotes positive surgical outcomes through evaluation, communication, and coordination of care throughout the perioperative experience.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current Texas RN license or compact license.
- BLS required.
- ACLS required.
Nice To Haves
- Preferred experience in perioperative, pre-admission testing, pre-op, PACU, or surgical services nursing.
