About The Position

Central California Rehabilitation Hospital in Bakersfield, California, is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit. The nurse conducts patient assessments and plans, supervises, implements, and evaluates interventions designed to prevent complications of physical disability, restore optimal functioning, and help patients adapt to an altered lifestyle. The role integrates the hospital’s mission and Guiding Principles into daily practice.

Requirements

Successful completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
Current state license as a Registered Nurse.
Current CPR certification.
Knowledge of and adherence to current nursing theory and practice, infection control, and wound care standards.
Knowledge of accreditation standards and adherence to standards set by state and accrediting agencies, including TJC and CMS.
Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures, and ability to use appropriate policies, procedures, and guidelines in patient care.
Critical-thinking skills.
General computer skills, including data entry, word processing, email, and record management.
Organizational and time-management skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work closely and professionally with others.
Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection-control standards.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
One year of recent experience.
Experience in an acute care setting.
ACLS certification preferred in LTACH and Texas hospitals.
