About The Position

Hartford Hospital is hiring Registered Nurses for its Specialty Medical Nursing Units, and welcomes experienced nurses, student nurses, and recent graduates. Nurses care for a wide variety of patients with acute care conditions as part of a collaborative team delivering holistic care to patients and families. The role offers opportunities to develop critical thinking, delegation, and time-management skills, as well as career development in critical care, emergency, and maternal nursing. Nurses are supported in practicing at the top of their license using research, innovation, and evidence-based practices. Graduate nurses with less than one year of experience are automatically enrolled in the Nurse Residency Program, which provides clinical instruction and additional learning opportunities. Floating is limited to the Medicine Division. Various shifts and hours are available, with a weekend and holiday component. Full-time, part-time, and per-diem arrangements are open.

Requirements

• Current Connecticut RN license is required before the start date; nursing students may receive an offer contingent on attaining a Connecticut RN license.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required; must obtain a BSN within six years of starting in the RN role.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
