Registered Nurse RN - Surgical Stepdown
About The Position
The Registered Nurse works in the Surgical/Neuro Stepdown department at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. This full-time role is scheduled for day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., in 12-hour shifts. The nurse delivers safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, and provides direct care within the scope of practice. The nurse also guides patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the DOU. The role is directly responsible and accountable for the care of assigned patients, communicates changes in clinical condition and diagnostic results to physicians, responds promptly and accurately to changes in condition or treatment response, and maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
Requirements
- Current and valid state RN license.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe patient care using assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
- Direct and guide patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the DOU.
- Remain directly responsible and accountable for care provided to assigned patients.
- Communicate with physicians about changes in patient clinical condition, hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic study results, abnormal results, and symptomatology.
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in a patient's condition or response to treatment.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
