About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The role delivers direct patient care within the scope of practice and directs and guides patient and family teaching, as well as the activities of other nursing personnel, while maintaining standards of care in the DOU. The nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care of assigned patients.

The Registered Nurse communicates with physicians about changes in patients’ clinical conditions, including hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic study results, abnormal results, and symptomatology. The nurse must respond quickly and accurately to changes in a patient’s condition or response to treatment and maintain patient privacy and confidentiality. This position is in the Surgical/Neuro Stepdown Department at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. The schedule is days, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., in 12-hour shifts.

Requirements

• Current and valid State RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
