About The Position

Shasta Regional Medical Center, a 226-bed acute care facility and member of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a Registered Nurse for Nursing Administration. The hospital serves Northern California and provides a comprehensive range of services. It is recognized for cardiovascular care, patient safety, and several Joint Commission certifications.

The Registered Nurse delivers safe, patient-centered care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The role provides direct patient care within the scope of practice and directs and supports patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit. The nurse is accountable for the care of assigned patients, communicates clinical changes and diagnostic results to physicians, and responds promptly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain it.
• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain it.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Previous acute care hospital experience.
• Ventilator management experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Direct and guide patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel.
• Maintain standards of care in the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit.
• Take responsibility and remain accountable for the care of assigned patients.
• Communicate changes in patients’ clinical conditions, cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms to physicians.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
