About The Position

The Registered Nurse Resource Pool role in Nursing Admin assures quality nursing care for all patients in accordance with the Michigan Nurse Practice Act, McLaren Lapeer Region policies, and nursing department standards. Using the nursing process, the nurse primarily provides direct patient care and helps maintain a safe patient care environment. The nurse maintains patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality, respects patient rights, and begins participating in leadership and preceptor activities when performance demonstrates the ability to do so.

The position works the day shift from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with 72 scheduled hours biweekly.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Possess a valid State of Michigan nursing license.
• Have one year of medical-surgical nursing and one year of critical care nursing, or an equivalent of two years of total current hospital-based nursing experience.
• Hold BLS certification.
• Obtain ACLS certification within six months of hire.
• Obtain TNCC within one year of hire.
• Obtain ENPC within 18 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Previous work experience within the specific unit specialty.
• Specialty certification within the specific unit.

Responsibilities

• Perform purposeful hourly rounding, addressing pain, position, personal needs, and possessions.
• Create an “always” experience for patients and identify ways to improve patient satisfaction.
• Provide nursing care directly to patients in a calm and professional manner.
• Maintain a safe patient care environment.
• Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality, and respect patient rights.
• Begin participating in leadership and preceptor activities when performance demonstrates the ability to do so.
