About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) role at Fairfield Hospital is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients with medical and surgical diagnoses. The nurse assesses patient status, implements clinical nursing interventions, develops and performs patient care plans to improve outcomes, and helps ensure a safe and therapeutic environment. The position works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary care team and administers medications in accordance with applicable state requirements and Mercy Health policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• One year of RN experience.
• BLS Basic Life Support certification is required before direct patient care, obtained from an approved source; ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support is acceptable in lieu of BLS.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Six months of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• BLS preferred upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Collect vital signs, administer IV medications, document in charts, and assess patient condition.
• Evaluate, update, and revise plans of care to support achievement of planned outcomes.
• Administer medications safely and in accordance with state requirements and Mercy Health policies and procedures.
• Develop and perform patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes.
• Help ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
