About The Position

The Registered Nurse position in Oncology Nursing at Fairfield Hospital is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients. The role uses organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, provides care to patients with medical and surgical diagnoses, implements clinical nursing interventions, and develops and performs patient care plans to improve outcomes. The nurse helps ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.

The nurse collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team, collects vital signs, administers IV medications, charts and assesses patient condition, and evaluates and updates care plans to help achieve expected outcomes. Medications must be administered safely and in accordance with applicable state practice requirements and Mercy Health policies and procedures. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• One year of RN experience.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Six months of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred upon hire; must be obtained from an approved source before direct patient care. ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support is acceptable in lieu of BLS.

Responsibilities
