About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides outpatient wound care at Texas Health Southwest in Fort Worth, Texas. The nurse delivers patient care using the Nursing Process and evidence-based practice, collaborates with team members to resolve patient issues, and communicates with other care providers. The role also includes teaching patients and families, providing discharge instructions, and addressing referral and supply needs. This is a full-time day position at the Wound Care Clinic, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The clinic offers self-scheduling, educational and career growth opportunities, and work at a Magnet-designated facility.

Requirements

Associate degree or nursing diploma required.
One year of experience as a registered nurse.
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire.
Current BLS certification before providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Experience in an outpatient wound care setting and/or inpatient wound care preferred.
CHRN (Certified Hyperbaric Registered Nurse), with 12 months preferred.
CWCN (Certified Wound Care Nurse), with 12 months preferred.
CWON (Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse), with 12 months preferred.
CWOCN (Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse), with 12 months preferred.

Responsibilities

Deliver care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process.
Provide wound care in an outpatient setting.
Work with other team members to resolve patient issues.
Ensure communication with other care providers is timely, accurate, and complete.
Provide patient and family teaching and discharge instructions, and address referrals and supply needs.
Use evidence-based practice to administer wound care services.
