About The Position

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, Virginia, is hiring a Registered Nurse traveler for a 14-week temporary assignment in inpatient Medical Telemetry/Cardiology. The role is listed for night shifts, with multiple shifts available. The RN provides competent nursing care using the nursing process and applies professional nursing practice standards, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. The RN maintains the clinical knowledge and skills required for the specialty area.

Requirements

• ADN, BSN, or MSN degree.
• Valid Virginia RN license.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• At least 2 years of recent bedside RN experience in inpatient Medical/Surgical nursing; cardiology experience is a plus.
• EPIC documentation system experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Coordinate care, provide teaching and health promotion, and collaborate with others.
• Meet professional practice standards for ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health.
• Maintain clinical knowledge and skills required for the specialty area.
