Registered Nurse (RN) Med Surg Pulmonary
About The Position
St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Med Surg Pulmonary unit at the Edgewood, Kentucky hospital. The licensed registered nurse is accountable for providing evidence-based clinical care to designated patients through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, following established ethical and cultural codes and nursing practice standards. The nurse collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient outcomes and appropriately delegates tasks to licensed and unlicensed healthcare team members. The role requires respectful, dignified, kind, and empathetic interactions with patients, families, visitors, and employees regardless of cultural background. This is a regular, full-time position scheduled for 36 hours per week on the night shift, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Hold a license to practice nursing in the state where the work is performed.
- If eligible, hold a Compact (multi-state) license in the nurse’s primary state of residence.
- Meet contact-hour requirements for licensure, including all state-required courses.
- Have an educational focus that promotes the ability to practice in the assigned clinical area.
- Demonstrate knowledge of nursing theory, clinical practice standards, procedures, and policies.
- Be competent in mathematical calculations associated with medication administration.
- Be competent to independently perform safe nursing skills and procedures.
- Successfully complete the facility and clinical-area preceptorship and orientation.
- Be able to critically think and solve problems in routine and emergency situations.
