About The Position

The Registered Nurse on the pulmonary unit delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with departmental requirements and state and specialty standards of practice. Working with medical providers and the care team, the nurse provides personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The nurse advocates for patients, families, and caregivers and supports positive patient experiences and clinical outcomes. The role is identified as a nights position.

Requirements

Registered Nurse (RN) qualification.
Registered Nurse Diploma.
At least 1 year of RN experience.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
No travel required.

Responsibilities

Assess patients on admission and during each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting changes in their condition.
Perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions as ordered by medical providers, and document care administration thoroughly and promptly in the patient’s medical record.
Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic responses, and take appropriate action in response to unintended medication effects.
Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipate patient needs, and resolve them.
Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex medical terminology to ensure understanding.
Collaborate with medical providers and the care team to provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care.
Advocate for patients, families, and caregivers.
