Registered Nurse - 5D Cardiac Step Down-Evening/Night-Up to $25,000 Sign on Bonus
About The Position
Arnot Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for its 24-bed 5D Cardiac Stepdown Unit in Elmira, New York. Nurses care for a diverse patient population, including cardiac, respiratory, mental health, and general medical cases. The unit emphasizes teamwork, patient-centered care, supportive collaboration, and favorable patient ratios. This is a full-time position with 12-hour evening/night flex shifts and a required weekend and holiday rotation. The stated pay range is $43.70–$53.20 per hour, plus benefits. Qualified registered nurses may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $25,000.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program and eligible to obtain a New York State limited permit.
- Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure.
- BLS, ACLS, and Stroke Certification required within 90 days.
- Ability to meet the position’s physical requirements, including supporting patients with mobility and positioning.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- At least one year of nursing experience.
- BLS, ACLS, and Stroke certifications obtained before completion of the introductory period.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients with a variety of needs and use a person-centered approach to develop care plans and prioritize expected and unanticipated needs.
- Communicate effectively with patients and other healthcare professionals.
- Implement the technical skills needed to care for patients competently and resourcefully.
- Stay current with organizational and departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of care, follow through on care delivery, use critical thinking to make appropriate clinical decisions, proactively address actual and potential problems, and complete compliant clinical documentation.
- Assist with educating patients and families and serve as a resource on departmental patient-care standards.
