About The Position

The Registered Nurse delivers safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse provides direct care within the scope of practice and is accountable for the care provided to assigned patients. The role also guides patient and family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Telemetry Unit. The nurse communicates with physicians about changes in patients’ clinical conditions, including cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms, and responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.

This is a full-time night position in the Medical Surgical department at Prime Healthcare St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee, Illinois. The schedule is 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., three 12-hour shifts per week.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

Nice To Haves

• Previous acute care hospital experience.
• Ventilator management experience.
• Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities
