About The Position

Mary Bridge Children's Hospital & Health Network is seeking a staff Registered Nurse for its hospital-based PICU/CICU team in Tacoma, Washington. The nurse will provide specialized pediatric nursing care using a multidisciplinary approach and the nursing process, and will contribute to clinical decision-making, quality improvement, patient experience, and a supportive learning environment. The role is per diem with variable shifts and a 0.1 FTE. CICU experience is preferred, ideally more than two years, but is not required.

Requirements

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State or a Multistate License endorsement (MLS).
Current BLS certification.
ACLS, NALS, PALS, TNCC, or NRP certification, as required by the facility or department.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Certification in a specialty area.
One year of experience in an acute care setting.
CICU experience, ideally more than two years; not required.

Responsibilities

Organize patient care by prioritizing, delegating, delivering, and evaluating care on an ongoing basis.
Use nursing education and experience to deliver care through the nursing process and in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
Collaborate with the nursing team to improve quality of care and patient experience and reduce costs.
Foster a learning environment for patients and families, nursing staff, and other members of the health care team.
Advocate for ethical, holistic care that promotes patients’ autonomy, dignity, and health across diverse ethnic and social backgrounds.
