About The Position
Westwood Specialty Care, an 85-bed long-term care skilled nursing community in Sioux City, Iowa, is hiring a part-time Registered Nurse for weekend shifts from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The RN provides compassionate care to residents, supports daily clinical operations, and helps ensure quality care and resident safety. The position is part of Care Initiatives, which operates more than 40 skilled nursing communities throughout Iowa.
Requirements
- Hold a valid RN license in good standing that is valid in Iowa, or have the ability to activate one.
- Hold current, valid CPR certification.
- Have knowledge of federal and state long-term care regulations and laws.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to helping others and treating them with empathy, respect, patience, and discretion.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing environment.
- Support daily clinical operations on the unit and help ensure quality care and resident safety.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and on time.
- Monitor resident conditions and respond promptly to changes in status.
- Collaborate with CNAs, LPNs, providers, and other interdisciplinary team members.
- Communicate effectively with residents and families regarding care needs.
- Document care accurately to meet clinical, regulatory, and facility standards.
- Follow infection control, safety, and compliance protocols.
