About The Position

Registered Nurse position on a high-acuity medical/surgical floor serving surgical and trauma patients. The patient population includes patients with gunshot wounds, quadriplegia, and paraplegia. The patient ratio is 5:1. Nursing Support Technicians and phlebotomists are available, and a unit secretary is present at night. The ED nurse and admitting unit complete a nurse handoff. Candidates must be willing to work the assigned shifts; block schedules and requests for time off (RTO) are not accepted.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in the specialty.
• Surgery and trauma experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• EPIC experience or proficiency.
• Willingness to work assigned shifts; block schedules are not available.
• No requests for time off (RTO).

Nice To Haves

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients on a high-acuity medical/surgical floor.
• Care for a patient population that includes surgical and trauma patients, patients with gunshot wounds, and patients with quadriplegia or paraplegia.
• Participate in nurse handoffs between the ED nurse and the admitting unit.
