About The Position
NurseAmerica is seeking an experienced Travel Med Surg RN for a 13-week assignment in Central New York. This position is ideal for an RN with strong Medical Surgical, Special Care Unit (SCU), and Emergency Department (ED) experience. The unit primarily cares for adult Med Surg patients with an occasional pediatric patient population. Previous travel nursing experience is required. The facility is a 25-bed hospital providing essential primary and specialty care services, supported by an experienced team of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nursing professionals. Requirements
- Active New York RN License
- Minimum 2+ years of Med Surg experience
- SCU (Special Care Unit) experience required
- Emergency Department (ED) experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Current AHA BLS Certification
- Current specialty-specific skills checklist
- License verification for New York and all other active RN licenses
- Current resume documenting relevant Med Surg, SCU, ED, and travel nursing experience
- RTO must be disclosed at the time of submission
- Valid driver's license with address matching candidate demographics
Nice To Haves
- Charge Nurse experience strongly preferred
- Supervisor experience strongly preferred
- ACLS preferred
- PALS preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide care for adult Med Surg patients with an occasional pediatric patient population.
- Float as needed to other units.
- Document patient care using the Sorian charting system.
