About The Position

The Registered Nurse on the 300W Med-Surg Pulmonary unit manages care for patients experiencing medical conditions or undergoing surgical procedures. This fast-paced, dynamic unit specializes in respiratory, telemetry, and vascular surgery patients. Nurses are trained to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to a complex patient population, including patients requiring telemetry monitoring, cardiac drips, and advanced respiratory support with supplemental oxygenation. The role involves assessing patient condition, administering medications, changing dressings, monitoring vital signs, maintaining records, and providing support and education to patients and families. The nurse maintains a broad knowledge of medical care to serve a diverse group of patients. The unit is supported by a collaborative team and offers opportunities for professional growth, including Med-Surg certification, participation in the Star Clinical Ladder, and precepting new nurses.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited nursing program or an NLN-approved program.
Active RN license in the state of Missouri.
BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Effective leadership abilities.

Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
Flexibility and ability to work in a multitasking environment.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
Previous nursing experience.
