About The Position

The Registered Nurse on the 300W Med-Surg Pulmonary unit manages care for patients experiencing medical conditions or undergoing surgical procedures. The unit specializes in respiratory, telemetry, and vascular surgery patients, including patients requiring telemetry monitoring, cardiac drips, and advanced respiratory support with supplemental oxygenation. Nurses assess patient conditions, administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, maintain records, and provide support and education to patients and families. The role serves a diverse patient population and offers opportunities to develop critical-thinking skills and nursing techniques while delivering patient-centered care. The team emphasizes support and teamwork, with opportunities for growth such as Med-Surg Certification, participation in the Star Clinical Ladder, and precepting new nurses.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN-approved program.
Active RN license in the state of Missouri.
BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Flexibility and ability to work in a multitasking environment.

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
Previous nursing experience.
