RN - Registered Nurse - Emergency Department - Days
About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) works in the Emergency Department at Mount Carmel St. Ann's, providing care within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. The nurse delivers patient care in an environment responsive to each person's physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs, collaborating with colleagues and using the Nursing Process in accordance with organizational standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines. This is a part-time position consisting of two 12-hour day shifts per week, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with every third weekend and rotating holidays. The RN assesses and evaluates an assigned group of patients, collaborates with patients and families on plans of care, communicates and documents pertinent information, and is accountable for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed caregivers as appropriate.
Requirements
- Graduate from a school of nursing.
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
- Casual RNs must have two years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care, ensure patient safety, promote evidence-based practice and quality initiatives, and demonstrate professionalism consistent with the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program model.
- Assess and evaluate care for an assigned group of patients using evidence-based practice.
- Collaborate with patients and families to develop and implement plans of care that address physical, spiritual, and educational needs.
- Communicate pertinent information accurately and promptly to appropriate team members, and keep patients and families updated.
- Accurately and completely document relevant patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with applicable standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Accept responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed caregivers, as appropriate.
