About The Position

Benchmark is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver nursing care to residents in a warm, comfortable, home-like environment. The role is part of a supportive team focused on building community and lasting relationships with associates and residents.

Requirements

• Current state RN license and CPR certification.
• Graduate of an approved RN program, per state requirements.
• A minimum of 1 to 2 years of nursing experience is preferred.
• Previous experience working with the elderly in a paid or volunteer position is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assess, communicate, and document residents’ status.
• Observe and report significant changes in resident behavior and health to the Resident Care Director, physician, family, Resident Care Assistants (RCAs), and Executive Director, as required by state regulations.
• Direct and supervise the daily work assignments of Resident Care Assistants.
• Mentor, guide, and direct Lead Resident Care Assistants in all aspects of their jobs.
• Coordinate care needs with community providers through an effective case management process.
• Balance service demands with support for resident independence.
• Recognize and assist in preventing elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation, and report concerns to appropriate sources per state regulations.
• Respond to emergencies and personal emergency response system alerts, and determine when to call for backup.
