About The Position

This Banner Staffing Services (BSS) Registered Nurse position provides nursing care to patients in the Women's Services department at Banner Page in Page, Arizona. The role is part of a critical access team and involves collaborating with physicians, nurses, patient care assistants, and other departments to provide compassionate, personalized care. BSS positions are Registry/Per Diem, are used as needed, have no guaranteed hours or medical benefits package, and require a minimum commitment of two shifts per month. The nurse assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents patient care in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards. The role applies specialized nursing knowledge and judgment to assess patients and provide care appropriate to their physical and developmental needs. The nurse is accountable for the quality of care delivered personally and by those under their direction, and may supervise staff and departmental workflow in some roles.

Requirements

Current, valid RN license in the state of practice, a temporary/interim RN license in the state of practice, or compact RN licensure valid for the state of practice.
BLS certification.
Ability to relate the experience, training, and education needed to perform the job during the interview process.
Maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the work area, demonstrated through annual validations.
For Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions, at least one year of experience in an acute care hospital setting, including work as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area within the past 12 months.
For Banner Registry and Travel physician practice positions, at least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a physician practice or acute care setting.
A minimum commitment of two shifts per month for Registry/Per Diem positions.
Completion of a post-offer Occupational Health physical assessment, drug screen, and background check, including employment, criminal, and education checks.

Responsibilities

Assess patients' physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge-planning needs; review patient history, diagnostics, and laboratory data; and report abnormal findings to physicians and appropriate caregivers.
Formulate and revise patient-specific plans of care, including discharge plans, in collaboration with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary health care team.
Implement plans of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision, following physician orders, nursing plans, policies, standards of care, and regulatory requirements.
Promote continuity of care by communicating patient status accurately and completely to other caregivers.
Evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching, assess progress toward goals, and revise care plans as needed.
Document assessments, plans, interventions, evaluations, patient responses, and physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.
Provide evidence-based care and may participate in research activities, shared leadership, professional development, orientation, precepting, and mentoring.
Contribute to excellent patient outcomes and improvement of nursing quality indicators through timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and safe care.
Interact with staff, physicians, patients, families, external health care contacts, community providers, agencies, and clergy to coordinate and support patient care.
In some roles, supervise staff and departmental workflow.
