About The Position

HCA Florida Citrus Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Women’s Services Unit, focused on labor and delivery. The nurse provides clinical expertise and safe, high-quality, efficient care to patients in a high-acuity environment, including care for laboring patients and assistance with deliveries, including C-sections. The role includes educating patients and families, maintaining patient records, reviewing and posting test and examination results, and administering medications according to physician orders. The hospital describes offering staffing support, technology, equipment, and ongoing clinical education to help nurses deliver patient care.

Requirements

• Florida Registered Nurse license in accordance with state regulations, or appropriate compact licensure; nurses holding a compact license must obtain an active Florida RN license within 60 days of hire.
• Nursing diploma or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 60 days of hire or transfer.
• Certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) within 6 months of hire or transfer.
• Critical-thinking skills, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions.
• PC skills.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, intervene in, and evaluate the care of laboring patients.
• Assist with deliveries, including C-sections.
• Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• Maintain and review patient records, including posting test and examination results.
• Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.
