About The Position

Henrico Doctors’ Hospital is seeking a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to provide exceptional direct patient care during the intrapartum period. The unit respects patient choices and preferences and supports births ranging from low-intervention to high-intervention care for low-risk and high-risk patients. It assists an average of 4,400 births annually and provides 24/7 coverage with OB hospitalists, certified nurse midwives, anesthesia services, a perinatologist, a neonatologist, and a newborn admission nurse. The team also works closely with a perinatal nurse navigator and perinatal social worker, with support from a 40-bed Level III NICU, a 21-bed OB antepartum unit, and a 35-bed Mother Baby Unit. Available resources include two types of wireless fetal monitoring, multiple pain-management options, and deep soaking tubs.
