About The Position

Desert Valley Hospital, a member of the Prime Healthcare Foundation, is an accredited 148-bed acute care hospital in Southern California. The Registered Nurse works in the Birthplace and delivers safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The role provides direct patient care within the scope of practice and includes care for newborns and mothers during the antepartum and postpartum periods. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care. The nurse must respond quickly and accurately to changes in a patient’s condition or response to treatment, provide a safe environment for patients and visitors, and use the chain of command when necessary to support patient well-being and appropriate care.

Requirements

Hold a current and valid state RN license.
Maintain current BLS certification, obtained within 30 days.
Maintain current NRP certification, obtained within 90 days.
Obtain Basic Fetal Monitoring upon hire within 60 days and maintain it current.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
