About The Position

Banner Health is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its New Nurse Experience (NNE) program in the Progressive Care PCU Surgical 4D unit in Mesa, Arizona. The ANCC-accredited program supports new graduates as they transition into professional nursing practice through clinical mentoring, training, skills assessment, and development opportunities. Successful candidates are assigned to a facility unit and are expected to remain on their NNE unit for at least 12 months. They must live within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned facility. The RN cares for patients in a fast-paced, 37-bed progressive care unit. Patients are recovering from critical medical conditions and receive continuous cardiac monitoring. They may arrive from the emergency department or community, after surgery or procedures, as ICU downgrades, or as medical-surgical or observation patients requiring a higher level of care. The RN assesses, plans, provides, evaluates, and documents patient care in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards, and is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by themselves or those under their direction. The program includes clinical experiences with a preceptor, training in Banner’s simulation center, competency and skills verification, orientation to the Cerner electronic medical record, hands-on patient-care skills lab, e-learning modules, and professional and personal development resources. Most new nurses work three 12-hour shifts, with weekend and holiday rotations. Day shifts are 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.; night shifts are 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m. The position is paid and benefits-eligible.
