About The Position

The Registered Nurse New Graduate position is a full-time role in Banner Health’s New Nurse Experience (NNE) Program, designed to help recent nursing graduates transition into competent professional nurses. The program provides clinical mentoring by unit staff and educators, a collaborative learning environment, and career development opportunities. Nurses are expected to remain on their assigned NNE unit for at least 12 months and live within a reasonable commuting distance of the facility. Most new nurses work three 12-hour shifts, with weekend and holiday rotations. The listed shifts are 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m. The position is in the 36-bed Progressive Care Unit, which cares for patients requiring continuous telemetry monitoring, including patients with respiratory, renal, cardiac, withdrawal, and infectious conditions. The nurse assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents patient care in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards. The role is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by the nurse and those under their direction, and requires nursing judgment and skills appropriate to patients’ physical and developmental needs. The NNE program includes precepted clinical experiences, training in the Banner Simulation Center, competency and skills assessment, orientation to the Cerner electronic medical record, hands-on patient-care skills lab training with equipment, e-learning modules, and professional and personal development resources.
