About The Position

Denver Health is recruiting a mission-driven new graduate Registered Nurse for its 3B Progressive Care Unit. The 30-bed 3B Flex unit can accommodate both progressive care and intensive care patients. On an average day, 26 beds are designated for PCU-level care with a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio, and four beds are designated for ICU-level care with a 1:2 or 1:1 ratio depending on patient needs. Nurses care for patients across specialty services including interventional cardiology, surgery, trauma, medicine, neurology, and neurosurgery. Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse follows American Nurses Association standards of professional nursing and performance and the ANA Code of Ethics. The nurse applies critical thinking, evidence-based practices, and clinical competence, collaborates with the healthcare team, and works to promote patient safety and quality outcomes. The role incorporates the Theory of Human Caring and Caritas into daily practice. New nurses participate in a 12-month Nurse Residency Program with monthly education classes and hands-on clinical experiences to support the transition from nursing student to professional nurse. The position is a regular 0.9 FTE night-shift role.
