About The Position
Delaware Hospice is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to provide homecare in Sussex County, Delaware. New graduates are welcome to apply, and hospice or homecare experience is not required; training is provided. The nurse is an integral member of the interdisciplinary team and helps provide hands-on, patient-centered hospice care. Nurses may care for pediatric patients, with specialized training and orientation available for those joining the Katybug program, which supports children from the perinatal period through young adulthood and their families. The PRN RN works under the direct supervision of the Director of Hospice Services and in accordance with Delaware Hospice’s philosophy, objectives, and policies and the goals of hospice care. The role contributes to the physical, emotional, and spiritual support of patients and their loved ones.
Requirements
- Current RN licensure in the State of Delaware.
- At least 2 years of oncology, medical-surgical, or home care nursing experience.
- CPR certification required.

- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary point of contact for patients and families or caregivers.
- Conduct weekly medical assessments.
- Manage the patient's care plan.
- Help families and caregivers understand what to expect and answer their questions.
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary hospice team to support patients' physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
