About The Position

Delaware Hospice is seeking PRN Registered Nurses for Kent County Homecare. New graduates are welcome to apply, and hospice or homecare experience is not required; training is provided. The nurse works under the direct supervision of the Director of Hospice Services and in accordance with Delaware Hospice’s philosophy, objectives, and policies and the goals of hospice care. Nurses may care for pediatric patients. Specialized training and orientation are available for nurses interested in the Katybug program, which serves children from the perinatal period through young adulthood in their homes and supports their families. The RN is the primary point of contact for patients and families, conducts weekly medical assessments, manages the patient’s care plan, explains what to expect, and answers questions as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure in the State of Delaware.
• At least 2 years of oncology, medical-surgical, or home care nursing experience.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct weekly medical assessments.
• Manage the patient’s care plan.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the patient and family or caregiver.

• Provide hospice nursing care in accordance with Delaware Hospice’s philosophy, objectives, and policies and the goals of hospice care.
• May care for pediatric patients.
