The Peer Support Doula provides compassionate, trauma-informed peer support to pregnant and postpartum individuals impacted by substance use disorder (SUD), trauma, or justice-system involvement. The role combines peer support and doula care to offer emotional, informational, and non-clinical support throughout the perinatal period. Using lived-experience-informed practice, the Peer Support Doula builds trust, fosters empowerment, promotes positive maternal and infant health outcomes, and connects participants with community resources through a person-centered, culturally responsive, strengths-based approach. Employees must obtain and maintain Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) certification. Candidates who are not certified must be willing to pursue and complete certification after meeting applicable eligibility requirements; Impact Life will support eligible employees through the process. Professional doula certification is not required at application, and Impact Life will support the selected candidate in obtaining it. This is a full-time position based in Kent County, Delaware, with a Monday-through-Friday schedule. Hours may vary based on participant needs, and local travel to appointments and service locations is required.
