About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse to join the surgical services team. The nurse will provide high-quality perioperative care using the systematic nursing process to promote patient safety and positive surgical outcomes. The role primarily serves as an OR Circulator, collaborating with surgeons, surgical technologists, anesthesiologists, and other interdisciplinary team members before, during, and after procedures.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Professional experience as an Operating Room Circulating Nurse.
• Experience with orthopedic, OB-GYN, and general surgical procedures.
• Strong perioperative clinical skills and proficiency in intraoperative sterile techniques.
• Ability to think critically under pressure and communicate effectively with the team.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with urology and ophthalmic surgical specialties.
• Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) nursing experience.
• Prior travel nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary patient advocate in the operating room, manage surgical flow, maintain sterile field integrity, and coordinate surgical care.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to carry out physician orders, manage intraoperative supplies and equipment, and maintain safety protocols.
• Conduct pre-operative patient assessments, verify surgical consent and site marking, and transition patients into post-anesthesia recovery care.
• Perform nursing duties in accordance with facility policies, professional regulatory guidelines, and evidence-based perioperative standards.
