About The Position

Under minimal supervision, the Registered Nurse provides nursing care for a group of patients assigned based on matching patients’ needs with the nurse’s competencies. The nurse completes established position competencies within the designated introductory period and performs other related duties as assigned. This is a new-graduate role in the ICU.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Possess a current Texas State License for Registered Nurse.
• Have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from ARC or AHA upon hire; AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
• For adult critical care, telemetry, and interim critical care units, complete AHA ACLS within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role, before the end of the orientation period.
• For the pediatric ICU, complete AHA PALS within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role, before the end of the orientation period.
• For the NICU, complete AHA NRP within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role.
• For the NICU Level 2 Nursery, provide proof of prior S.T.A.B.L.E. completion or complete it within 6 months of hire or transfer into the unit.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Two years of experience in acute care.
• Previous clinical nursing experience in med/surg, telemetry, or ICU.
