About The Position

The Nursing Graduate works under the direct line-of-sight supervision of a Registered Nurse in the clinical setting and participates appropriately in patient care delivery. The graduate orients to the RN assignment but does not provide independent nursing care. Medication administration may be performed under the direction and supervision of a licensed RN. This role may be used for up to 12 weeks while employees participate in the Intermountain Nurse Residency program and prepare for, take, and pass the State Boards examination to obtain an RN license. After 12 weeks, or after a second failed board examination, the employee may no longer remain in the Nursing Graduate position and may apply for other qualifying open roles. Failure to pass boards or obtain another position results in termination. Graduates must be enrolled in and have started coursework in the Nurse Residency program before providing direct patient care, including care supervised by an RN. The position is in the Intensive Care Unit at LDS Hospital and is full-time at 36 hours per week, with variable shifts. The position has separate entry pay rates for unlicensed new graduate RNs and licensed RNs. The listed hourly range is $32.27 to $32.27, with actual pay dependent on experience.
