About The Position

The Registered Nurse works on the 3W Observation/Medical Stroke Med Surg Unit, a fast-paced, 21-bed unit on the third floor of Gottlieb Memorial Hospital. The unit has private rooms, with central monitoring when clinically indicated. Nurses provide care for adult patients with a range of medical diagnoses, including neurological stroke, infectious disease, other medical conditions, and some cardiac conditions. Patients typically stay from 48 hours to four days.

The unit uses an interdisciplinary approach to address patients’ and families’ physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs. Nurses contribute to quality care through clinical expertise, evidence-based practices, patient safety, and a focus on positive outcomes. This is a night-shift, PRN, non-benefited position.

Requirements

• Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing; BSN or ADN.
• BLS Provider certification accredited by the American Heart Association, required prior to hire.
• Illinois Board of Nursing license, required prior to hire.

Nice To Haves

• One year of inpatient nursing experience preferred.
