Registered Nurse (RN) | GDCP (Prison) | Day shift | $44-$49 an hour
About The Position
Centurion Health is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to provide mental health and medical services at Georgia Diagnostic & Classification State Prison (GDCP) in Jackson, Georgia. The RN provides holistic, patient-centered nursing care to an incarcerated population within the scope of practice and works under the direction of the Director of Nursing (DON) and/or Nursing Supervisor. The RN collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to assess and respond to patients’ medical, mental health, and psychosocial needs. The position is on the day shift, 40 hours per week, with an eight-hour shift from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Weekend coverage is required. The posting describes a structured clinical environment with clear policies and workflows, a dedicated security presence, and collaboration with nursing leadership and multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in nursing.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia, or an active MSL or Compact license.
- Current active CPR certification.
- Ability to obtain required security clearance, including drug screening and a background check.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, ethical, and evidence-based nursing care.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
- Monitor patient conditions and report changes appropriately.
- Collaborate with medical, mental health, and custody teams.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Follow established safety, security, and infection control procedures.
- Assess and respond to patients’ medical, mental health, and psychosocial needs.
