About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) works in multiple physician offices to provide professional nursing care for patients, including assessment, treatment, care planning, medical care evaluation, and education in accordance with established standards and practices. The RN float assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care and serves as a liaison between patients, staff, and providers.

The position is based at the Lafayette 3920 Building in Lafayette, Indiana. The schedule is Monday through Friday, days, with various schedules available. Travel is required never or rarely.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree required.
• Valid RN license to practice in the state or as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) upon hire required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Two years of nursing or patient-care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient assessment, treatment, care planning, medical care evaluation, and education according to established standards and practices.
• Assist providers and staff in coordinating patient care and act as a liaison between patients, staff, and providers.
• Work with physicians, nurses, and patients to resolve questions about medications, health education, and medical advice within the RN’s skill level and scope of practice.
• Record and maintain complete and accurate records of patient and physician communications regarding medical care according to standard medical record documentation requirements.
• Submit new prescriptions and refill prescriptions electronically or by fax according to physician orders.
• Serve as a resource to clinic staff regarding medical information, patient assessment, and nursing management of illness.
• Acquire pre-certifications and prior authorizations for patient needs.
