Registered Nurse - MICU
About The Position
The MICU Registered Nurse provides independent professional nursing practice at Lakeview Hospital by assessing, planning, performing, documenting, and evaluating patient care. The role provides work direction and oversight for nursing care delivered by unlicensed personnel and carries out provider medical orders. The nurse assists providers with diagnostic and treatment procedures, maintains a safe and therapeutic environment, and coordinates, communicates, interprets, and explains patient care services to patients, families, health professionals, and other important people. Other related duties may be assigned. The schedule is 0.6 FTE on day shift, with every third weekend worked and a mix of 8- and 12-hour shifts.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Nursing.
- Current RN license from the Minnesota Board of Nursing, or a Wisconsin RN license and Minnesota Border State Registry status.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer & Health Care Provider).
- Current ACLS certification.
- Stroke Care (NIHSS) certification within six months of start date.
- At least one year of RN critical care experience in ICU or ED.
Nice To Haves
- Baccalaureate or master’s degree in Nursing.
- Associate-degree-prepared nurses enrolled in a baccalaureate Nursing program.
- Telemetry experience.
