About The Position

The Registered Nurse works in the Ortho Trauma department at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis, Indiana. The role develops, implements, and evaluates individualized patient care plans, monitors and communicates changes in patients’ conditions, coordinates care across specialties, carries out physician and nursing orders, and collaborates on discharge planning. The schedule is nights, with three 12-hour shifts per week and every third weekend.

Requirements

• BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
• Registered Nurse credential from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained before hire or job transfer.
• Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing, or required professional licensure at the time of hire.

• Previous trauma experience.
• Previous ER experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Continuously monitor and record patient conditions and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team.
• Coordinate care across specialties and disciplines as the primary care coordinator.
• Interpret, transcribe, and execute physician and nursing orders in a timely manner.
• Assess, plan, and coordinate patient discharge needs with the healthcare team, patients, and their families.
